Several computer graduates from Rajasthan, who went to Uttar Pradesh to meet Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, were allegedly assaulted on Friday at the party office in Lucknow. Many of those who sustained injuries were taken to the hospital.
These graduates, some of whom have been unemployed for years, have been demanding regular jobs and have opposed the Ashok Gehlotled Rajasthan government’s decision to employ them on a contractual basis.
The graduates said Priyanka Gandhi, on one hand, criticizes the Uttar Pradesh government for the recruitment of graduates on a contractual basis, but on the other hand the Congress-led Rajasthan government wants to implement the same hiring policy.

“I and my unemployed colleagues were beaten by Uttar Pradesh Congress workers,” Upen Yadav, who advocates the cause of unemployed people, claimed.
Last month, scores of protesting computer graduates from Rajasthan staged a dharna outside the Congress party office in New Delhi, lashing out at the Ashok Gehlot government.
The graduates believe that recruitment on a contractual basis would make them vulnerable to being sacked in the future without any reason being ascribed.
